What I would like to tell the Recovery Movement: We should be focusing on creating and cultivating understanding between different faiths and walks of life. Once the communication tools are there on a small scale, we can begin to take it bigger, but first our communities must be safe and sound and get along.

Poem:

Good and evil, right and wrong,
black or white, week or strong…
Every day we are presented with a choice
to keep to our selves or outstretch our voice.

Now “good” is to ways that “god” prefers,
while “evil” is to sing-song of a “demons” verse,
BUT mystics present us with a new paradigm,
where evil is considered an aspect of divine.

Now rather than destroy, our task is to uplift,
the black of the white, into grays we can shift.
Good an evil are not one simple dichotomy,
but a complex system of veils where light outta be.

So while good and evil is not right or wrong,
just as black or white is not weak or strong…
It’s time to change the way we see things,
open up our hearts, and toast to new beginnings.

Facing Page:

Health Insurance success story: I use Obamacare and have had a wonderful experience with it, specifically concerning my chiropractor and getting my back to not hurt. I go to him once a week and once I met my deductible, it has been very affordable and life changing. To be able to go to the doctor when you need without breaking your bank and having to wait months to get in is a true blessing.

Infographic: Poetry for Personal Power surveyed 530 young adults in Colorado and found that faith and spirituality were one of the biggest sources of power. Mental health advocates and Recovery can do much more to sensitively discuss how people can use faith or spiritual connections as a wellness tool.
